Thank you for visiting furniturebuyer.co.uk and examining our Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully, as you agree to abide by them when making a purchase.

Definitions

‘Buyer’ means the person who buys or agrees to buy the Products from the Seller.
‘Seller’ means Furniture Buyer.co.uk, a private company owned by Home Improvement Corporation, VAT registration number 995315190 and Company registration number 7227593. Online we trade as www.furniturebuyer.co.uk. We are located at Watling Court, Orbital Plaza, Watling St, Brigtown, Cannock, WS11 0EL and this address is suitable for the serving of documents.
‘Conditions’means the terms and conditions of sale set out in this document and any special terms and conditions agreed in writing by the Seller.
‘Delivery Date’ means the date specified by the Seller when the Products are to be delivered.
‘Price’ means the price for the Products including packing and VAT.
‘Products’ means those goods specified.

Conditions Applicable

Nothing in these conditions shall affect the Buyer’s statutory rights as a consumer.

The Seller shall sell and the Buyer shall purchase the Products in accordance with a written quotation from the Seller which is accepted by the Buyer, or any written or verbal order of the Buyer which is accepted by the Seller including but not limited to orders placed via the Seller’s Web site, subject in any case to these conditions, which shall govern the contract to the exclusion of any other terms and conditions subject to which any such quotation is accepted or purported to be accepted, or any such order is made purported to be made, by the Buyer.

Any typographical or clerical or other error or omission in any sales literature, quotation, price list, acceptance of offer, invoice or other document or information issued by the Seller shall be subject to correction without any liability on the part of the Seller.

When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.

Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order, And that a contract has been made between us. We will not take payment from you until we have accepted your order. In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this.

You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us. If the goods you order are not available, we may supply you with

Substitute goods. If you decide not to accept the substitute goods, you will not have to pay to return them to us.

You will be taken to the cart page where you can see the summary of your purchase.

If you wish to shop more you may simply click on the “Continue Shopping” button which will take you back to the last product page you were on or you may click on the “Checkout” button to precede towards payment.

After you click on checkout, you will be taken to the “Billing and Delivery Detail Page” You are required to enter your correct Billing address and also specify your Delivery address in case your delivery address is other than your billing address or you may simply click on the check box as shown in the below figure if your Billing & Delivery address are same.

Description of products

Furniture Buyer makes every effort to describe the products offered for sale as precisely as possible. Furniture Buyer reserves the right to add, remove or amend products without notice.

Dimensions where specified, are supplied by the manufacturers and displayed by us in good faith. They should be regarded as being for assistance only. If you are ordering an item where accurate dimensions are important, please contact us before ordering and we will make further enquiries on your behalf.

Payment for orders

When an order is placed, we will send out an order confirmation by email confirming the order with us. This constitutes a contract between you the customer and us (furniture buyer) the retailer. All goods must be paid for prior to delivery. We accept all major credit and debit cards. We also provide the customer with an option of paying by cheque.

Return Policy - Cancellation of order after Delivery

Not quite what you ordered

we hope that you are pleased with your purchase from Furniture Buyer. We do realize that there are occasions when you need to return goods to us. For your peace of mind and happiness we offer a Ten day, no quibble, money back guarantee providing the goods are returned in appropriate packaging and condition. You are responsible for the return carriage cost, Please contact us as soon as possible to inform us that you wish to cancel you order, by e-mailing support@hic-uk.co.uk and please make sure you quote your Order Number. We will arrange to collect your goods. Goods are refunded within 30 days of Cancellation. You can bring the goods at our warehouse on your own to avoid the collection charges the refund will be done within 30 days. If we believe the product has been used or been tampered with, we preserve the right to refuse an exchange or a refund.

Goods faulty on arrival?

We do everything possible to ensure that our furniture is sent out in perfect condition and we employ extensive quality checks. However, we are all human and in the unlikely event that your goods do arrive faulty please e-mail support@hic-uk.co.uk within 7 days with photos attached of the damage goods so that the replacement process will be faster  and we will arrange for the goods to be collected and a replacement dispatched.

We generally reply to all our emails within 24 hrs.

Goods damaged in transit?

It is your responsibility to examine the goods for damage prior to signing for receipt of the goods. If you are not pleased with the condition of the goods you should inform the driver and refuse delivery. Once you have provided written receipt for the goods it is almost not possible for us to file a successful claim for compensation with the courier.

Cancellation of the order

You must inform us in writing, or in another durable medium, if you want to cancel. This includes letter, fax or email. A phone call is not acceptable. Under no conditions will we accept a cancellation after the 10 day period has expired.

You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future. If you cancel the order after the goods have been delivered, arrange a refund less collection costs which you will be charged according to the goods ordered and the post code from where the goods will be collected you could also bring the goods at our warehouse on your own to avoid the collection charges the refund will be done within 30 days. If we believe the product has been used or been tampered with, we preserve the right to refuse an exchange or a refund.

Reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this result in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value. And accordingly the refund will be processed within 30 days.

Once you have confirmed and signed for the item, the 7 days returns policy is activated. Please note if you do sign for the item to say that it is in good condition and then later discover that the item is damaged upon opening the packaging, we will not be liable for the replacement of the damaged goods, (please be aware of this).

Product guarantee

All furniture from Furniture Buyer comes with a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing defects. Should a problem arise within this period the furniture will be repaired or replaced.

Replacement of damaged goods

Goods that are damaged on arrival with the customer will be replaced at no additional cost. It is in the customers own interests to unwrap and fully examine all furniture at the time of delivery.

Customers have up to 7 days following delivery to report damage, but claims must be supported by photographs and it is the responsibility of the customer to show the damage has not been caused by any misuse or mishandling following delivery. All claims must be supported by photographs.

National Deliveries

Furniture Buyer offers “FREE DELIVERY” on all orders over £200 across England & Wales.

For Deliveries to Scotland there is a delivery charge of £30.00 applicable on all orders.

The Following postcodes and certain remote areas will carry an extra surcharge apart from the £30 delivery charge.

For customers located in Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands, Isle of Wight, Channel Island and Isle of Man, Furniture Buyer provides delivery service only to a mainland GB address i.e. a port. Shipping beyond that is the responsibility of the customer.

Large items are delivered directly to your home in specially equipped furniture vans and are carried in by delivery staff. You will receive a telephone call or an email to agree a time convenient to you at least 48 hours prior to delivery.

Smaller items may be delivered by a courier service

Furniture Buyer reserves the right to amend the delivery charges at any time.

Informing you about Anticipated Delivery Timescale.

Expected delivery times are visible on each and every product page on the website. These times can be used as an indicator for how long it will take to receive the product(s).

Upon receipt of your order, Furniture Buyer will send you an order confirmation, via e-mail, (or post if e-mail is unavailable).

Where items ordered are stock items, we will deliver the item to you within 1 - 14 days.

The average lead time is 2 weeks, depending upon the item ordered and the manufacturer.

Bespoke items will take longer these dates can only be supplied by the manufacturer once the order has been placed.

We will keep customers informed if there is any delay on the expected delivery time of goods that has previously been included within the product page on the website.

Tracking Your Delivery

It may be possible to track your order. Please e-mail support@hic-uk.co.uk  giving details of your order number and Furniture Buyer will be able to inform you of the status of your order.

Please note that Furniture Buyer will only contact you with regards to delivery if, the product(s) has arrived into our depot / logistics company and are ready for delivery.
The product delivery time is delayed longer than mentioned.

Confirming the Delivery Date

Once your item(s) is ready for dispatch either we will contact you or our contracted delivery service will contact you in order to arrange a mutually suitable delivery date.

Available days for delivery are Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8.00am - 5.00pm. Some items can be delivered on a Saturday delivery at an extra surcharge. Please email (email add) with details of your selected item(s) and a representative will be able to inform you whether your item(s) can be dispatched for a Saturday delivery

Delivery times

Every effort is made to make deliveries at the time arranged. Whilst making hundreds of deliveries every week, the difficulties caused by traffic congestion and weather conditions (including snow, ice, wind, rain and flood) can sometimes cause delays to these schedules. We apologize we cannot compensate customers for delivery delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Delivery by courier

1. When items are in stock and ready to be dispatched, we quote 1 – 5 working days for items that are being sent by courier, however it can occasionally take longer.
2. All Items must be unwrapped and checked on delivery before signing the delivery documents from the courier company.
3. If items have any damages they must be sent back with the same courier van that delivered the goods, with the packaging back on the goods, and signed for as damaged.
4. Any damages must be reported before the departure of the delivery drivers/ courier.
5. The courier company has it in their terms and conditions that they must allow you the customer a reasonable time to check the goods, before accepting.
6. All returned items, are reordered immediately for customers.
7. Customers have the right to cancel any goods they receive, up to 7 days after receipt, and receive a full refund. The goods must be in their original packaging, and be in perfect condition. The customer will be liable for all delivery and collection costs incurred should they cancel within the 7 days. A refund will only be given, once the goods have been received by us, and inspected within 30 days.

Specializing in Next Day Delivery Furniture Buyer offers “Next Day Delivery” service on Beds and Mattress and many other products in Mainland UK.

To avail the facility for a next day delivery

1. Orders need to be placed one day prior.

2. All order placed before 13:00 p.m qualify for a Next Day Delivery.

3. Next Day delivery are done from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m

4. Saturdays and Bank holidays are excluded from Next day delivery services.

5. Furniture buyer offers special Next day delivery on Saturdays on certain items on an extra surcharge of £25.

6. Please make sure the goods are examined before signing the courier delivery note.

7. For any more information regarding Next day delivery please email us at support@hic-uk.co.uk.

8. Once an order is received for Next day delivery we make sure the goods are delivered next day. For Next day delivery we do not inform or call customer to confirm delivery as it is understood as confirmed for next day delivery.

9.Incase you do not want the goods delivered on next day please mention the date when you want the goods to be delivered or contact us via email confirming the date immediately.

10. We do not carry items in stock in our warehouse. Goods are only ordered when the buyer places the order. If the Item you have purchased is Not Available for any reason we will offer you an alternate item or a full refund.

11. Please make sure all goods are examined before signing the delivery note. Once the documents are signed by the customer we will not be responsible for any claims on damage goods. However this will not affect your statutory right as a buyer.

Care, inspection and handling of goods

Wood will exhibit variations in colour, tone and grain pattern and within individual pieces of furniture and between different items of furniture from the same range. This is not a fault but a natural feature of the material. Wood will also transform colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the natural characteristics of the material.

It is not strange for wooden furniture to crack or split as the timber settles; this happens more frequently with waxed furniture and is completely normal. Wooden furniture will swell in damp conditions and shrink in hot, dry conditions.

Waxed furniture requires regular wax treatments to maintain its appearance. The wax is just a coating on bare wood, and as such the wood will display shiny marks where the wax may have been rubbed. This is natural and unavoidable.

No wooden products are stain or heat resistant, though a lacquered product offers slightly better protection.

No refunds will be payable for damage caused by mishandling furniture or misuse of furniture.

Distressed furniture

Customers are required to familiarize themselves with what is commonly understood by the terms ‘distressed finish’ and ‘distressed furniture’ before ordering such items. These terms mean the goods will display a variety of imperfections to the surfaces, such as flaking or incomplete paintwork, cracked, or lacquer, marks, splits or cracks to the surfaces or any other spots purposely intended to create a worn, aged or re-used appearance.

Painted furniture

Wood and wood-based furniture has natural inconsistency in the absorbency of its surfaces. It is unavoidable therefore this will result in some colour variations in the finish on production of mass-market painted furniture. There are also variations in colour finishes as represented on the internet due to technical factors, such a lighting of the furniture when photographed or editing of images. Paint is usually only applied to the external surfaces of furniture. Inner surfaces will either be in bare wood or a thin coat.

Website Prices


If a price has been shown incorrectly on the Furniture Buyer website, the company reserves the right to cancel any customer orders placed at that price and return in full any payment received.

Special orders

Goods which are ordered to a specification or finish cannot easily be offered for resale, so they are classed as special order items. Customers who cancel a special order are liable for the costs incurred by Furniture Buyer. This includes any carriage costs incurred or any charges made to us by the manufacturer.

Use of Furniture Buyer web site

Furniture Buyer owns the copyright and all other intellectual property of, or has the right to use and make available for purchase where relevant, all material on the site including but not limited to the text, graphics, logos and all other material available or downloaded through the site.

Variation of Terms & Conditions

Furniture Buyer reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time and without notice. You will be bound by these modifications when you use the site, and should periodically read these Terms.

Free Assembly
Our free assembly service is only valid on orders that have been placed without taking any discounts or the use of any voucher codes, as it is a free service that we offer we have the right to discontinue at anytime we see fit.

Order Cancellation
If a order is placed and then cancelled within 12 hours a full refund will be given, if the order is cancelled after the 12 hours period there will be administration charges and logistics charges that will be deducted prior to the refund.

If a customer wants cancel a bespoke product for any reason,
it is very unlikely that we could sell the same items to another customer at full selling price. We'll therefore reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the order price.
